PATIENT TESTIMONIALS

We recently saw a 63-year-old patient from Carson, WA, which is located 60 miles away from our clinic. Thomas was experiencing extreme fatigue and as a result, had to retire from his job as a foreman at a residential construction company. He was aware that his health was deteriorating but found himself in an insurance gap โ€“ too young to receive Medicare and too poor to afford healthcare coverage. Thomas originally came to BGHC for dental care to have teeth extracted. He admits that he had to โ€œswallow his prideโ€ to accept the help that he needed, and this was difficult for him. However, he feels that this step likely saved his life. While at the clinic, we identified that Thomas was suffering from extremely high blood sugar levels (+500) and his A1C readings exceeded the maximum detectable levels. Thomas was critically close to experiencing a diabetic coma. BGHC assessed his blood sugar issues and quickly began an insulin regimen. Our clinic nurse, Audrey, has kept a close eye on Thomas โ€“ even calling him regularly to monitor his condition. Thomas also began meeting with our nutritional specialist to learn how to change his diet to help improve his condition. As a result of these efforts, Thomas is improving every day, and he credits BGHC with helping to save his life.

Jennifer came to see us for dental care when she was feeling broken by her divorce which had left her with no insurance. She now is volunteering for us 2-3 times a week and is in training and being mentored to have a career as a Dental Assistant.
